Editor, Journal or Alcohol and Drug Education Professor, Environmental & Occupational Health School of Public Health, University of Nevada – Las Vegas Manoj Sharma, MBBS, Ph.D., MCHES® is a Professor of Social and Behavioral Health in the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health in the School of Public Health and Editor of Journal of Alcohol and Drug Education. He is a public health physician with a medical degree from the University of Delhi and a doctorate in Preventive Medicine (Public Health) from The Ohio State University. He is also a master certified health education specialist certified from the National Commission on Health Education Credentialing. In his career, spanning over 30 years, he has trained/taught over 6,000 health professionals at 13 national and international universities working full time or part-time. He is a prolific researcher and as of October 2020 had published 10 books, over 290 peer-reviewed research articles, and over 450 other publications and secured funding for over $4 million (h-index 37, i-10 index 147, and over 7,000 citations). Vernon Smith is a former Michigan Medicaid Director and former Senior Advisor with Health Management Associates, where he focused on Medicaid, Medicare, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, health reform and trends in the healthcare marketplace. A health economist, he has authored numerous publications relating to Medicaid, and both state and national health reform. Dr. Smith has had the privilege to speak on these issues before many national and state audiences, has been a guest on National Public Radio, and been quoted on these issues in many national publications, including the New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Newsweek and Time Magazine. His Ph.D. degree is from Michigan State University. Among other involvements, he serves on the Board of Trustees of Anderson University, his undergraduate Alma Mater.
Dr. Kanekar is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator for Health Education and Health Promotion at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. His fourteen years of teaching experience involves more than 30 different courses (undergraduate and graduate) in the areas of public health, health education and health promotion. Recipient of numerous teaching awards, his pedagogical techniques involve online –distance learning, hybrid, and face-to-face courses with web enhancement using instructional technology such as synchronous and asynchronous student interaction. His research areas of interest focus on adolescent health, measurement in health education, global health, online and hybrid pedagogy, and health behavior interventions. He has made more than eighty presentations and published more than 45 publications in referred journals at the national, international and state level. He currently serves on the Society for Public Health Education Ethics Committee and Editorial Board of the American Journal of Public Health and Journal of Alcohol and Drug Education at the national level and the Arkansas Society for Public Health Education at the state level.
Accredited Legal Secretary Jamie has been JADE’s Journal Coordinator for many years. She is responsible for directly coordinating with the JADE editor, manuscript authors, Peer Reviewers and contract personnel to ensure production of an exceptional quality journal. Jamie is trained as a legal secretary, para-legal, as well as, being highly proficient in the desktop publishing area. Jamie is currently employed by the State of Michigan in the Attorney General’s office.
